(based on MLS Statistics for Cape Girardeau County)

The number of homes sold in Cape County dropped 9% from 784 in 2009 to 714 in 2010, and 24% from the average sold during 2004-2007.

Remarkably, the average sale price of Cape County homes priced below $400,000 actually rose (albeit slightly) from $136,700 in 2009 to $137,500.

The number of homes sold priced above $400,000 dipped significantly in 2010 when compared to 2009. Sales in the 300's, however, were up substantially.

Interest rates remain OUTSTANDING with many 30 year fixed rates below 5%.

Of the 1,512 homes listed in Cape County last year, 37% have sold or are pending, 30% remain active, and 33% have expired or been withdrawn. 

While the overall dollar volume reported to the MLS was down, REALTY EXECUTIVES experienced its sixth consecutive year with sales growth.
